Role Description
Tensory Technologies is seeking an independent Technical Data & Analytics Consultant to support client engagements on a contract basis. This role is suited to a technically strong analyst who enjoys working across varied consulting projects and can operate comfortably between business stakeholders and technical teams.
You will contribute to project delivery by analyzing data, shaping insights, supporting data strategy work, and helping translate technical findings into clear recommendations for clients.
This is a contract position where hours are billed against active client projects. It is not a salaried employment role.
Responsibilities
- Analyze complex datasets to support business, policy, and technology decisions
- Develop data-driven insights, models, and visualizations for client deliverables
- Support data strategy, analytics, and governance initiatives across multiple projects
- Collaborate with consultants, engineers, and client stakeholders
- Clearly communicate findings and recommendations to non-technical audiences
- Contribute to documentation, reports, and presentations used in client engagements
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills with hands-on experience in data analysis
- Experience using analytics and visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
- Comfort working in a consulting or client-facing environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience working with real-world, messy datasets
Nice to have (not required)
- Working knowledge of SQL and/or Python
- Exposure to data governance, data architecture, or AI-enabled analytics
- Experience in public-sector or regulated environments
Engagement Details
- Contract role with billable hours tied to client projects
- Expected workload varies by project (typically part- to full-time during engagements)
- Vancouver-based candidates preferred; some on-site work may be required
- Competitive hourly rates based on experience
